Dr. Zahra Rasaei | Research Excellence Award

University of Tehran | Iran

Zahra Rasaei is a researcher from Iran specializing in digital soil mapping, legacy soil inventories, soil genesis and classification, land evaluation, and clay mineralogy. With demonstrated expertise in integrating legacy data, remote sensing, and advanced statistical methods, she has contributed to the improvement of soil information systems and the understanding of soil spatial variability. Her research experience includes developing depth-based environmental clustering approaches, addressing zero-inflated and skewed soil salinity distributions, and applying Bayesian data fusion and spatial filtering to enhance the accuracy of soil property maps. She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles in international journals such as CATENA, Pedosphere, Geoderma, Geoderma Regional, and Desert, and has participated in peer review activities, including reviewing for the Journal of South American Earth Sciences. Her work contributes to the modernization of soil mapping practices and the rescue of legacy soil data to support improved land evaluation and sustainable environmental management. She continues to advance innovative methods for understanding soil patterns and properties across diverse landscapes.
