Prof. Dr. Mehmet Merdan began his academic career as a lecturer at K.T.Ü. Gümüşhane Faculty of Engineering and later completed his PhD on improved Lazer-McKenna suspension bridge oscillation models, after which he joined the Department of Geomatics Engineering as an assistant professor. He then became an assistant professor in the newly established Department of Mathematical Engineering and was subsequently promoted to associate professor and later to full professor within the same department. He has held several leadership roles, including director positions at Torul Vocational School, the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, and Gümüşhane Vocational School of Health Services, and currently serves as head of the Department of Mathematical Engineering and dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Gümüşhane University. Prof. Dr. Merdan has authored 104 publications, including 41 indexed in the SCI-Expanded scope, and has actively contributed to numerous national and international conferences and symposia.
