Farhan Ahmad began his academic career with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Islamia College Peshawar, Pakistan, where he developed his foundational knowledge in physical sciences. He then pursued a Master’s degree in Solid State Physics at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, which deepened his understanding of condensed matter physics and materials science. Building upon this background, he is currently advancing his doctoral research at NJUST in China, where his studies are centered on the development and optimization of high-performance 2D semiconductor materials for electronic applications.

Research Interests

His research focuses on several key areas within condensed matter physics and materials science. These include the study of 2D p-type semiconductors with enhanced mobility for advanced electronic applications, the exploration of non-layered 2D materials for transistor devices, and the design of van der Waals heterostructures with tailored optoelectronic properties. He has also worked on photodetectors and nanosensors for environmental monitoring, as well as energy-related nanomaterials for batteries and photocatalysis.
